On Monday, the 27th, Jacob had his very last trip to see his doctor down in Indy! We are so pleased to announce that after 15 1/2 months after his accident on June 7th 2009, Jacob no longer has to wear his pressure garment glove! How exciting! After wearing them everyday for 23 hours per day he is done, trust me we have looked forward to this day for quite awhile. Everything looks great and we are so blessed that he has had such a wonderful doctor along the way! The reason he had to wear his glove was to push down the skin and help minimize any scaring from his hand being skin grafted. Of course the glove worked to the best of it's ability and we will continue to do massage therapy to minimize any scares he has left.
Isn't he such a cutie!!!!
Jacob doesn't seem to miss wearing his glove yet, but then again we have been quite busy the past few days so that may be a reason why too. You may read more about his accident and what happened here. We will forever hold the Riley's Children's Hospital Burn Unit and the Hoosier Burn Camp dear to our hearts. Jacob is a remarkable little guy, and we are so very proud of him and all that he has accomplished!!!! Lisa
